That's Latin. It means hello, and is pronounced not like the synonym for balm, but like sahl-vay (yes, you DO pronounce the v...take that!). We have taken Latin from 3rd to 8th grade, because we are classically educated. Oh yes. We attend Covenant Christian Academy, known in the vulgar as CCA, and this publication is the wicked twin of The Inscription, the official CCA newspaper. This is not official in every way possible. It is our underground tabloid of sorts, and we like it that way.
